About Aikin
Aikin was founded in the Netherlands on a simple observation: the Internet Computer Protocol made it possible to build real applications on-chain — not just transactions.
In traditional software development, around 30% of engineering capacity goes toward things users never directly experience. Security, infrastructure, patching, provisioning. On the ICP, the protocol handles this at the infrastructure level. That frees nearly 100% of engineering capacity for software users actually experience.
That insight is what started Aikin.
Since then, the thesis has expanded. Code is getting commoditised by AI — what AI can't automate is understanding a client's problem, designing the right architecture, and knowing what belongs on-chain and what doesn't. That's where Aikin operates today: upstream of code, as the architecture layer between a client's problem and the solution.
Aikin has been recognised by the DFINITY Foundation with four developer grants and is a member of the DFINITY Alliance. Aikin has also built a 1+ year strategic partnership with the Open Internet Foundation as the development partner on distrikt.
We're based in the Netherlands, with a distributed team across the UK and Turkey.
